We breathe young, modern and creative. We are the ones who discover talents and light up exhibits hiding behind the door of the workshops in the country. We want to create a universe whereimagination and creativity are at home and to show the world that the aesthetic sense has no geographical landmarks. We open each summer with a week dedicated to design and art that you cannot miss. Every year we prepare an exhibition where we bring together all the creative industries, workshops, events, parties and a lot of good mood – everything to make the entire world understand that design is more than what we see at first glance.

GUEST COUNTRY
Within Moldovan Design Week we want to bring to the public international partners whose experience will add value to the biggest festival dedicated to the creative industries. In 2018, the Guest Country of the event was Romania, becoming, through Romanian Design Week, a valuable participant and a trusted partner of the MDW. We set out a goal to borrow from international experience in the 2019 edition as well.

In creative industries, inspiration is one of the keys to productivity, and perhaps the most efficient way to inspire you is to listen to experts and successful people who speak only based on their experience. We have thought out the Design Talks concept as a unique source of inspiration and a special opportunity for the creative industries, but also for all those who appreciate the design. For the 2019 edition we planned a series of speeches that we believe will be enormously useful and inspire you to create.
One of the most prominent designers of his generation. His fingerprint and style are found in brands such as Alessi, Audi, Estée Lauder, Issey Miyake, Prada and Sony. And over 3000 models in production, more than 300 awards in over 40 countries, confirms the legend of Karim Rashid. On 6 June, we’ll have the honor to listen to him on stage at Tekwill.

MDW 2019 prepares you a surprise – an MDW shop where valuable design pieces will be displayed.These range from small furniture items, decorations, accessories, jewelry to posters, stationery and products for babies. The location will exhibit and promote dozens of local designers and artists and not only. You will also find in the shop products whose value has been tested over time, companies whose style and technology have become the tradition. Thus, for a week, on the ground floor of Nicolae Sulac National Palace you will be able to see the creative ideas, the style and the innovation of the local designers and artists.
